Epson TM-U220 and ReceiptKit
The Epson TM-U220 is an impact printer. ReceiptKit prints raster images, so it is not supported today. Here is what that means and which printers to use instead.
Epson TM-U220 compatibility
The Epson TM-U220 is the most common impact (dot-matrix) kitchen printer. Its ribbon-printed text survives heat and grease where thermal paper darkens. Because it prints text rather than raster images, ReceiptKit does not support it yet.
Typical use: hot-kitchen order tickets where thermal paper is unsuitable.

Why the Epson TM-U220 is not supported yet
- •ReceiptKit renders every receipt as an image and sends it as raster data. The TM-U220 does not accept raster jobs, so it would need a separate text-mode path that we have not built.
- •For a kitchen printer that works today, use a thermal printer such as the Epson TM-T88VI or Star mC-Print3 placed away from direct heat, or a sticky-paper model like the Star TSP143IV SK.
