Cloud coordination, local printing
ReceiptKit sends a few hundred bytes of order data to a bridge on the printer's network. The bridge renders the receipt and writes ESC/POS data straight to the Munbyn 80mm, so prints are sub-second even with logos and barcodes.
Do you need a driver for the Munbyn 80mm?
No. The bridge writes to the printer directly over TCP or raw USB, without the operating system print spooler or a vendor driver, on every platform.
| Platform · connection | Driver install needed? |

| Any platform over Ethernet / Wi-Fi | None |
| Raspberry Pi over USB | None |
| Windows over USB | None |
| macOS over USB | None (beta; USB on macOS is still being validated in the field) |
Connect the Munbyn 80mm in three steps
1.Install the free bridge next to the printer
Download the ReceiptKit bridge for Windows or macOS, or flash the Raspberry Pi image. It runs on any machine on the printer's network, or the one it is plugged into. PC setup · Raspberry Pi setup
2.Connect the Munbyn 80mm over Ethernet or Wi-Fi
Give the printer a network connection on the same subnet as the bridge. The bridge scans for it by its network address and reads the model name from the printer. If it is not found automatically, add it by IP address; the bridge prints over raw TCP on port 9100.
3.Or plug the Munbyn 80mm in over USB
Connect the printer to the bridge machine with a USB cable. It appears in the bridge as soon as it is plugged in.
4.Claim it and print a test receipt
Claim the printer in the bridge so it appears in your ReceiptKit dashboard, then send a test print. The bridge selects the ESC/POS command language and paper width from the model name automatically.

Munbyn 80mm quirks and notes
- •No driver needed on any platform.
- •Over USB the Munbyn reports an Epson TM-m30II USB descriptor, so the bridge names it that way at first. It still resolves to ESC/POS at 576 dots; rename the printer if you like.
- •If the Ethernet module uses a random MAC address, the bridge will not auto-discover it. Add it manually by IP address in the bridge UI.
- •Bluetooth models must be connected over USB or Ethernet; the bridge does not print over Bluetooth.
