Star TSP100IV compatibility

The Star TSP100IV is the current TSP100 generation and, despite the name, a StarPRNT printer rather than a raster-only one. The SK variant prints on linerless sticky paper for kitchen and delivery labels. It offers USB and Ethernet, with Wi-Fi on some models.

Typical use: new installs replacing older TSP100 printers, and sticky-label kitchen tickets on the SK model.

Expected, not yet lab-tested

We have not had a Star TSP100IV in our lab. It uses the same StarPRNT command language we validated end-to-end on the Star mC-Print3, so we expect it to work. If you run one, tell us and we will move it to tested.

How it works

Cloud coordination, local printing

ReceiptKit sends a few hundred bytes of order data to a bridge on the printer's network. The bridge renders the receipt and writes StarPRNT data straight to the Star TSP100IV, so prints are sub-second even with logos and barcodes.

Do you need a driver for the Star TSP100IV?

No. The bridge writes to the printer directly over TCP or raw USB, without the operating system print spooler or a vendor driver, on every platform.

Setup

Connect the Star TSP100IV in three steps

1.Install the free bridge next to the printer

Download the ReceiptKit bridge for Windows or macOS, or flash the Raspberry Pi image. It runs on any machine on the printer's network, or the one it is plugged into. PC setup · Raspberry Pi setup

2.Connect the Star TSP100IV over Ethernet or Wi-Fi

Give the printer a network connection on the same subnet as the bridge. The bridge scans for it by its network address and reads the model name from the printer. If it is not found automatically, add it by IP address; the bridge prints over raw TCP on port 9100.

3.Or plug the Star TSP100IV in over USB

Connect the printer to the bridge machine with a USB cable. It appears in the bridge as soon as it is plugged in.

4.Claim it and print a test receipt

Claim the printer in the bridge so it appears in your ReceiptKit dashboard, then send a test print. The bridge selects the StarPRNT command language and paper width from the model name automatically.

Star TSP100IV quirks and notes

  • Unlike earlier TSP100 generations, the TSP100IV speaks StarPRNT. The bridge resolves it to the StarPRNT dialect from the model name, so it gets full status reporting.
  • Not yet tested in our lab; it shares the StarPRNT dialect validated on the mC-Print3.

Does ReceiptKit work with the Star TSP100IV?
